It had been a few days now and the Guardians had not heard anything from their leader. All Telepathical links were never returned. Even the Elder became worried sinc his link was always the strongest no matter where the Dragoness was located. An emergency meeting was called for all to attend. They had sent out search parties in hopes they would find something anything of the whereabouts of their great mother.
The Gaurdians and other dragons searched high and low. They flew in highest skys, deepest oceans, and the hottest cores still nothing was found.Though the Dragons learned of the workings around the world still noone heard or seen any sign of their lost mother. They happened to find a dark place but quickly passed though for the evil seeped out of every pore. They even found the realm of the elves under fire and battered, though this was not their mission and pressed on hastily.
They finally all returned to their land. Moral was low and their hopes even dwendling. Still they called together and gathered around themselves for support and guidance. They tried to remain focused but still all the minds were in saddened burdened states. The Elder and the Gaurdians tried to resolve matters of every day while still sending patrols. Though without the Dragoness all was in dismay. It had even seemed as though the land itself was weeping over her loss and flurished not.
The result of the loss of the great mother was an immediate shutdown of all borders. The dragons never let one in or out. If you were caught trespassing death was immediate and swift. The Elder made a great barrier that only dragons may pass through. In those days all of existance was dreadfully uncertain.
Still the days went worse for the elves. They were now spread thin and their home under occupation. They were driven from the lands of their birth and now caught in the land of the Drow. Word came of the abduction of the queen and so they all pulled back. Fearing some dreadful torture they hurried to find allies.
Knowing that they were still fighting had caused great panic in the ranks. With no clear path they retreated north. As they crossed the lands many were killed by drow soldiers and the dreaded driders. Slowly draining the supllies they had left pressed on faster than before. They made there way to a boat yard and hurried with setting sail. The ocean they believed had been the miracle they were looking for.
Crossing the vast unrelenting seas were tough for the wood elves. Many were not used to be so far away from land. The sea tossed and turned them in all which ways. However the abilities of the sea navagators showed that no matter how powerful the sea was the strength of the elves in united spirit was not easily shaken. The fianlly came ashore to an island which they sought. At the beach they saw a great winged gaurd with unmoving eyes and a fiery spirit. "May I help you?" it asked. "Please kind dragon we are in despirate need at this hour," Said an elven chief. "We sent a convoy to your lands weeks ago and wish to ask to speak again to your leaders and the Dragoness if that possible..," he said wearily.
The elves were all taken from their ships and led to some guest housing off in the western lands. They were fed and given new supplies. The cloths were repaired and cleaned. They were made to rest for a few days to return the strength they had lost durring the horrible ordeal. After they were to rest they were bid to seek the Elder for he knew of the convoy sent some time past. Of answers they needed he would have them, or help them find there way.
The Day came when the Elder sought the attention of the elves. He told them to come to the sacred chamber located in the back of thier sacred monument. The doors were heavy and made of stone. They were opened and the elves were greeted by Gaurdian staff. They paused for a time and then a deep voice rang from the chamber asking them to enter. They did so and the door shut behind them.
Many hours went into the conversation. Both sides seemed very discouraged with news of ill tidingsthat had befallen them. Seeing that the enemy could be one and the same pressed forward lossly to gain information as best they could. Seeing as though the enemy was moving forward with his plan. The elves and dragons believed they too must work quickly and united to stop this sorcerer from destroying all they loved. The Elder knowing that bonds of trust to be made asked that all others excluding the leader of the elves to be escorted from the chamber.
The two great leaders spent another period of time n that chamber room. Ity was not known what was done or said in that room. However upon leaving the stone doors a look of relief and hope was evident in his face. The elves cheered that night and made a great circle. For the first time in many weeks the dragon lands had finally seen a hint of happiness. The dragons too were invited and shared along with the new allies. Only the two leaders stayed and watched as their races bonded and befriended one another. The two shook hands and hurried to their slumber.
Awakening the next day The Elder called the elven leader. to a special breakfast." Hospitality is and always will be our specialty," he told to the elven leader. You may call me "Agite" said the leader at last. "I am honored you have shown us much in our stay here. Though we dont want to leave in our present condition and we had to meet at a time such as this. We must however rescue our queen!" he said excitedly. The two ate breakfast together locked in chat and song. Hearty souls they were and merry as they ate.
After The days meal was completed a grand meeting was called in the biggest chamber in all the land. The Elder together with Agite stood on a great podium. All around them both small and great was the main forces of elves and dragons. They began to speak of the woes that had befallen both the races. They told of all events in their entirity. Left not one unanswered thought. The seriousiness of these things they said was destruction of the beautiful world each has come to love.
They finished speaking and stood to answer questions from the wondering dragons and elves. They spoke plainly and said that preprations must be made. They spoke of possible tragedies but for sake of the greater good that must be done. As they finished all questions and everyone began to prepare to leave. "Just one more thing," cried the Elder hurriedly.
The Elder transformed from his most majestic form to a more humanoid one. Underneath his feet was something wrapped in tight leather. He held it up and released the straps and revealed a sword long forgotten. Held fast in the scabbard, he presented to the elven leader. "This is the legenday Tanese Sword. Bane to all dragons and thier kin. In our allegance I can find none more worthy to hold it. Agite in great honor knelt low to the ground. In responce all life in the room followed suit. It was said that even the vines and plantlife too bent the leaves in respect. "I will cherish this gift for as long as Im alive Great Lord!" said Agite weepingly.
Dismissed from the meeting with a sense of justice the alliance took form in training. The fields were divided for the elves and dragons to practice. Taking great haste they moved all non combatants off the land. Teleported beyond both borders to a safe haven until the battle was either won or lost. the elves helped the dragon kin with bow while the dragon kin taught more of hand to hand. It was beginning to shape up. Just time was running out.
