To begin with ...

My first and foremost piece of advice is DON’T PANIC !

As the release approaches the cathedral will start getting quite crowded, and things are bound to get a bit tense. Please be respectful of others, and above all if anything should seem to go wrong (such as server crashes, payment difficulties, etc) ... please remain calm :)

"Normally, I will be forgiving and grant several warnings before taking action against someone causing a disturbance. However, given the lag and already tense nature of an egg release, I will be absolutely merciless towards anyone causing a disturbance or breaking the clearly posted rules." --Daryth 16:44, 22 September 2006 (PDT)

Cardinal Rules

Do not for any reason sit on an egg or obstruct the eggs in any manner.
Do not pay before you receive “Go!” in a blue Estate Message from Daryth:
the SL clock is not what dictates the exact time of the release. Paying early may
result in a missed opportunity or even lost funds!
Do take some time to read the signs and rules that are posted. They can be very helpful in
helping you successfully obtain your dragon egg and seat on the esteemed Council of Wyrms.

Release etiquette

  • Wear a basic human avatar, with very simple attachments, or even better: none at all. "Furry" avatars are okay but the less you wear the better it is for everyone.
  • Please don’t wear wings or attachments of any sort that occupy more space than your avatar: This applies especially towards invisible/transparent attachments.
  • Please disable any particle and sound effects you may have. These can add to the client side lag as well as be very annoying.
  • No inflammatory language or cursing. Please respect everyone's feelings. This is supposed to be a fun event for everyone!
  • Don't crowd the eggs. Getting closer to them wont give you an advantage and obstructing them may result in you being sent home.
  • Keep the drama to a minimum. Anyone inciting a fight or riot will be sent home.
  • Listen carefully to Daryth Kennedy's instructions and any requests made by her staff. (Members of the High Council of Wyrms)

Hints & Tips

  • Just before the event, right click the egg you want and select 'Pay' and open the pay window ahead of time, but be careful of itchy trigger fingers... wait till you hear "Go!" from Daryth's blue popup estate message.
  • Double check as you select pay that you are paying the right egg/person.
  • The cost for a full-sized dragon is 3500L
  • Remember in big crowded events like the Equinox and Solstice releases it may take a little while for the server to recognize your purchase. Be patient, you'll either get your egg or a refund shortly depending on if you were one of the lucky ones! All transactions are recorded. So, never fear Daryth will know if you should have gotten one.
  • If you miss out, you can always try again in three months. Also there are new species being released about one a month, and don't forget you can always get a Wyrmling or Hatchling!
  • Invitations to the Council of Wyrms take time to be processed. You should get your invite sometime the same day. If you do not you can contact Daryth Kennedy, Onix Harbinger, or Talarus Luan via IM for an invitation after your avatar is verified.
  • "Tiamat" is only available for those already on the Council of Wyrms. It's a special eddition release.
  • If you are already on the "Council of Wyrms" you can get any dragon at any time. Not just during the re-release. Also at a 1000L discount! Don't buy during a re-release. Wait till afterwards.
  • In the unlikely event that the Limbo simulator proves to be too unstable for the release the event MAY relocate to Lethe.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much do I pay for an egg? Why is there no Buy option?
Answer: Please right click -> Pay the egg exactly 3500 $L . Each egg serves many purposes and vends more than one size of dragon, so it doesn’t have a single buy-option.
  • Can I have a pay window open? Should I fast-pay?
Answer: Yes, you can have a pay window up, but the FastPay buttons have not proven to be 100% accurate in the past. The best bet is to open a pay window, but type the amount in yourself (exactly 3500 ).
  • Where is my egg!? I paid for it but I haven’t received it yet!
Answer: The release causes a LOT of stress on the server. Your purchase has been added to a queue and will go through as soon as the server gets to your place on the list. Please be patient, egg deliveries have taken up to 20 minutes in past releases.
  • How do I join the Council of Wyrms?
Answer: Once you purchased a dragon egg you will be automatically eligible to join the Council. It will take me some time after the release to collect names and send invites out, so please be patient. Please only IM me if you bought an egg but haven’t received an invite more than a day after the release.
  • What if I want to buy more than one dragon?
Answer: Please only buy one dragon during the release – for your sake as well as others. After you buy your first egg, your Council discounts apply, so all Dragons and Wyrmlings are 1000$L less. By purchasing more than one egg from the release, you’re overpaying, as well as depriving others of a chance to get an egg.
