Written and as told by David Itamae

Vatigo the realm beyond what all other realms gather. The world of infinate dreams and possibilities. The gods shaped the lives of the beings they protect in an infinate number of ways. From the ashes of death come the rebirth of the future. This was the way of life for all the inhabitants and noone ever dare cross it.

In the little village of Anorli lived a happy pixie. Sweet and mischievious she would plague the towns people with pranks and jokes. Though her age you couldnt tell it was older than most of the human residents. Her mind like a child of sweet youth.

The origins of her are unknown to most residents for she was simply always there. The elders remembered from times past their playing with her in the woods and the michief on their parents. According to the books the pixie was found in a hole near the village. As for beyond that was lost to history.

One day while causully going about her routine the pixie met a young man. The young man she had never before. She gazed about him only noticing the eyes which for her were a perfect shade of blue. She was so entranced she held fast her postition so much so the young man turned and smiled at her.

Slowly the young man walked causually about the town noticing building after building taking in the scenery as best he could. Only turning his head to see the pixie dash away quickly in a sudden panic. He simply laughed to himself and pressed on.

As he neared the temple he stopped a moment suddenly. He bent down to one knee picking up a bit of dirt off the ground. Rubbing it in his hands he smiled to himself and threw it back down again. He rose slowly and turned around. "Mind if you give me a tour?" he asked suddenly.

From the corner of a house the pixie poked her head out. Still aprehensive of the stranger she simply peeked her head out and hurried it back in again. Breathing heavily at the situation she began to flutter away.

The young man spoke quickly: "Come now pixie I wont bite. I just thought you might want to give me some company as I see you every little while"

The pixie stopping in her tracks listened and smiled at his words. She was never asked like this before. The challange was met with enthusiasm. She darted fast toward him with a full smile. "Merry met" she said happily.

With the young man quickly by her side she quickly spoke about the dwellings and the inhabitants. She was so well informed the young man could barely keep up. Her words betrayed her looks for she was as intelligent if not more so than any doctor in the town. He simple luaghed and kept her interest. Never missing a step.

The day slowly drew to a close. The two had walked the whole town in a matter of hours. Each entertaining the other in a happy combination. As the two reached the edge the pixie gasped in fright. Not knowing the reason the young man became worried and looked at her shocked.

The pixie now reverting to her normal self flew away quickly without effort to stay behind. The young man only took a momnet to take in everything. He simply smiled and walked on. He came to a hole not to far from the edge. He peeked inside and saw old trinkets and books. Some so worn you couldnt tell what it was. He carefully observed this and went about his merry way.

The next couple of weeks the man stayed in a hotel. Not really passing through nor seeing the pixie. He would look out the window each morning in hopes of finding that pixie girl. Most other townsfolks looked at him with a sort of distain. but he shrugged it off as simple fear.

One day he happed to walk among the roads and saw a light at the edge of the village. Knowing most would be asleep right now he investigated. As he peered into the area he saw his young pixie friend. Sifiting though the ruble of books and trinkets she causully placed new items in old places only singing to herself.

She did not notice the young man behind her until he politely said hello. She turned quickly and gasped. She tried to run but the area she was in was too small. He simply moved out of her way and grinned. She feeling relieved by this action began to breath easier.

She feeling that he would do her no harm decided instead to invite him in her little hole. He shifted some trinkets around and sat. She in turn began to tell him her tale of tragedy and woe. She told of the many who have come and gone in her life time. Sadly the only memories she has are the small items in the cave.

As she started to sob a gentle hand came over here. turning to see the young man smiling brought her relief. Then the night began to feel a little less cold. They talked well into the morning only the sun made them notice the time. As they bid themselves good day they smiled to themselves and departed.

For many months the two were inseperable. They talked all day walking about the town. The childish pixie seemed more defined and grown up. Though you couldnt tell it. Not when strangers approached she would joke and play as she always had.

Then one day she came to the typical meeting spot. He wasnt there. She waitied for a time before her heart became heavy and sad. She dissappointed fllew to her hole and began sifting through her items. She picked up a shirt that she grabbed form the young mans room and held it close.

Not knowing why she felt this way walked to other parts of the village. She happened upon a group of men. They talked about a bandit robbing and killing a man. Upon further hearing it she learned it was the same young man who walked and talked with her. With tears streaming down her face she ran back to the hole. Crying and tossing things about she was uout of control.

Many people passed the hole and heard her sobbing and crying seeing the trickets being flung they tried to console her. Thinking her in a temper tantrum they began to leave her be. They scorned her childishness and went away from her.

Just as the last person left she heard a farmiliar voice. She became wide eyed and silent. The voice called to her deeply,in a tone she had not known. She ran from her hole and saw a majestic sight. The being before her was so huge that it seemed she was a pebble next to him. She looked over its features and saw powerful talons, and a great mouth filled with teeth. Afraid she looked up into the piercing eyes of a wonderful shade blue.

She gasped and moved backwards. The voice filled the air with compassion and love "Dear sweet dragoness. At long last have you learned your lesson. You who shamed the name of your kind. It is been some time since you roamed among us. I hope you now know the honor of what it truely means to be a dragon".

She looked up at him with astonishment. He looked back down at her and spoke "I have been with you since the day you left our realm. I have witnessed your actions as one of the dwellers here. Sifting through your items I found several things that had at once belonged to me".

I finally saw the love in your heart. I welcomed this and hoped that maybe I could be the family you never had. For I too have been alone all this time. I have grown to love you so much and it does my heart ache to see you not with me." The pixie looked at him with her eyes full of tears. She gently kissed his talon and stepped backwards.

As she moved her body felt strange and heavy. Her little wings began to fade away. her hands and feet so slender became scaley and hard. She then became unconscious. When she came to the world as she knew it was diffenrent. She peered into the fountain and saw only the wonderful beautiful grin of a dragoness. She still dazed went to the other dragon before her.

"I am willing to go anywhere as long as I can remain here with you she said". With that the dragons took to the air. leaving nothing behind but a hoarde in a small hole.

Later It was said that the dragons could be seen at night playing practicle jokes and watching ober the village. Later as the village began to miss their pixie decided to erect a statue in her name. with an inscription that read.

"With love and friendship we wish you well. The dreams of the children and the inspiration to adults we will be forever young because of you and your laughter. Safe journey where ever you are"
