Hatchlings - Simple Modifications

Simple Hatchling Modifications
This article will concentrate on Hatchlings. They are easily modified and are simple to start with.
First – experiment with your Hatchling’s HUD. Want a purple Hatchie? Try white scales tinted (Red 128, Green 0, Blue 255). In “Edit”, click on “More”, then the Texture tab. You can choose colours here, and other options such as “Full Bright”, “Transparency” and “Glow” are also available. Play around with settings, and see what you can find! You can store settings you like in the “Custom” buttons on the HUD. After the scales, repeat the process for the horns, claws and all the rest.
Be bold. No texture can be as valid a choice as something fancy and complicated. Colour choices are only limited by your imagination.
Wings
Many Hatchies come without wings, and adding a pair is a simple and effective initial modification. There are some excellent wings available in SL - if you see some you like on an avatar – ask where they came from! Failing that check out:
Seven’s Selections (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Flotsam%20Beach/67/125/21/)
Material Squirrel (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Winged%20Isle/21/107/46/)
There are lots of other wing suppliers out there, some I know of, others I don’t. However, a visit to these will provide you with a fantastic initial choice. Grab all the demos and play with them for hours! In particular, the Seven wings are easily sized to fit Hatchies. And come with a great HUD system and in a huge range of styles and colours. Whilst in store – check out the vendor for a Tiny fishing rod.
Horns
Material Squirrel and Illusions both have ranges of horns intended for human heads that also work well on Hatchling heads! There are probably others, but I have used products from both of these with success. And Siyu Suen at Illusions is herself a long term IoW supporter! She also makes outfits for Hedgies.

Ears
Siyu calls them Head Wings, and humans can use them as little auxiliary wings. However, draconic voices were obviously covertly guiding Siyu as what she has made are so clearly meant to be Hatchie ears! You can tint them any colour you want, and they look great! They are copy, so you put ‘em on everything after your outlay.
Clothing
Much clothing for Tinies will work on Hatchies. Go to Raglan and look around! Tinies and Hatchies can share a lot of items.
Other stuff
Wynx Whiplash at Extrovirtual will sell you her super Tinymatic HUD. Once you are wearing it, type “/ao off” to turn off the Hatchie’s own ao, and enjoy the extra Tinymatic features. (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Extrovirtual/128/128/32/)
Tiny Inc will sell you the essential Cat Fight attachment, and Upstairs in the store you will find a Tiny Mermaid or Merman outfit that it easy to adapt to create a MerHatchie! (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Raglan%20Shire/55/90/22/)

Mix, match, muddle, enjoy, explore, experiment. Remember - if you still have youe egg, toy can always hatch another Hatchie, and start again!
