While I was Gone
Written and as told by Kath McGill
you may have wondered where ive been, these past few weeks. saying ive been busy, well,,,, is like saying the ocean has water in it.
I met someone and fell in like- found someone that I was comfortable with and in all the time that I was feeling invisable- this someone saw me.
Last year I saw a pose ball. it said "one knee" and I wondered who lost the knee?
I saw him then, clearing his throat, saying he wasn't the romantic sort, but there he was, on one knee, asking to be my partner... and I said yes.
time passed, and it was by chance that I said, I have time free- and it was a moment that changed my life- our lives.
It was if, we had known eachother for ages, and a day and in the middle of the holidays, while there was no pose ball, there was a question...
and I said yes.
the months flew by- rushing, past, yet dragging on
until the day that my brother walked with me down the last 100 feet from being alone,
to being with a man who is my friend
my lover to be, my companion.
the simple question,
Do you? was asked.
and I said yes.
Its been almost a month now- our lives jumbling entwined and all that comes with being one
- I know there are a lifetime that will come, and go,
and in it all, if it was to be done again,
I would say yes.
(smooches to my partner and rl husband - Ryu) Love Kath.
