False Hopes

Written byGypsywolf as told by Tessira Soderstrom

/Tessira twirls a white daisy between her fingers, staring intently at the swirling petals.
Darling, he said as he reached for her hand
I love being near you, but please understand,

It's her that I live for and hold in my arms.
It's you that I dream of, so pulled by your charms.

/Tessira carefully removes a petal, whispering, "He loves me."
Darling, remember, you're special to me,
But she is the woman I'm aching to free.

/Tessira frowns and pulls another petal off the daisy, "He loves me not"
Our future's uncertain, yes this much is true,
But darling, I've never told one lie to you.

/Tessira beams a smile, and kisses the petal she removes
He touches her face gently, his arms wrapped so tight.
Have sweet dreams, my darling. He kissed her goodnight.

/Tessira rips a petal off the flower and grumbles
If I could be two men, how happy I'd be.
I long to be with her, yet long to be free.

/Tessira pulls another petal off the daisy with a smile
Sweet darling, he whispered, then kissed her goodbye,
Please promise, no false hopes.
My darling, don't cry.

/Tessira stares at the last petal and murmurs, He loves me....not.
/Tessira carelessly tosses the stem away
